Spectrum Fusion is proud to announce in partnership with WorldFest-Houston, the debut of the International Autistic Filmmakers Showcase as part of the 60th Edition of the International Film Festival, taking place in 2027 from April 30th to May 8th!
Building off the momentum from Spectrum Fusion’s River Oaks Theatre Filmmaker Showcase earlier this year, the International Autistic Filmmakers Showcase will celebrate autistic storytellers from around the world while creating meaningful opportunities for connection, education, and professional development. Selected participants will be invited to take part in a dedicated showcase screening, filmmaker Q&A, panel discussion, and educational programming designed to support emerging and established filmmakers alike.
If you are an autistic filmmaker and always dreamed of submitting your film to a film festival but found the entry price to be a barrier, then today is your lucky day! To help remove barriers to participation, Spectrum Fusion will be underwriting the entry fee for up to 100 submissions to WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival from eligible autistic filmmakers who use the waiver code WF60SPECTRUM when submitting through FilmFreeway. In addition, participating filmmakers will have access to a dedicated concierge program, filmmaker resource videos and accessibility support throughout the submission and festival experience.
And if you’ve ever been interested in seeing films with a unique perspective on the world and different angle towards life, then you should come see the International Autistic Filmmakers Showcase on April 30th, 2027, in vibrant Houston! In addition to the showcase, there will be other exciting & educational events throughout the film fest focusing on autistic filmmakers.
More than just a showcase, this initiative is designed to celebrate neurodivergent creativity, build community, and position Houston as a welcoming home for autistic filmmakers from around the world.
